Yoga

Yoga originated in India over 5,000 years ago. It's Sanskrit translation is ‘Yoke’ more commonly known as ‘Union’ of both mind and body. Through practicing Pranayama, breath techniques and Asanas, postures, students will be able to manage stress effectively, increase their flexibility, focus, strength and build their immune systems against diseases such as Thyroid, Diabetes and Arthritis to name few.

Alternatives Therapy Limited specialise in:

  • Yoga for Beginners: Students new to Yoga will be given plenty of teaching points, support and time to adjust their alignment in postures. In addition they will be taught different breathing techniques and how to meditate, to aid their practice.

  • Vinyasa Yoga: This practice combines movement with breath to flow from one posture to another.

  • Restorative Yoga: This yoga practice uses props such as bolsters, blocks, blankets so the student may hold fewer postures for longer to totally relax the body and clear the mind.

  • Reiki Yoga: This is a really popular class as it combines reiki with yoga, balancing your seven chakra energies, whilst holding individual Yin postures for up to five minutes. Students leave the session feeling totally cleansed and balanced.

All of the above Yoga classes are available to local community groups, corporate businesses, on-line and on an individual basis.
