The name "Reiki" (pronounced Ray-key) comes from the Japanese words "rei" meaning spirit and "ki" meaning energy.  It is usually translated as "Universal Life Force Energy."

Reiki is a powerful, yet gentle healing energy that works to alleviate the cause of disease and not just treat the symptoms. It restores balance and harmony to a person's entire being: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Acute injuries can be helped to heal very quickly but more chronic illness takes longer. In some cases such as terminal illness, there is not enough time for the progress of the disease to be reversed. However, in such cases there is usually great benefit and enhancement of the quality of life giving a sense of peace and acceptance during the time remaining. The Reiki practitioner channels the Reiki energy through her hands to the person or animal receiving the treatment.  The client would remain fully clothed during this treatment.  This treatment is also available for pets.

Reiki supports all forms of treatment both orthodox and complementary.  You can opt for either a 60 minute or 30 minute treatment.
